The Rosary

When we pray the Rosary, we share in Mary’s love for her Son, and in Christ’s love for His Mother. We experience, through the heavenly light in our blessed Mother’s heart, the radiant face of Jesus. We draw closer to God in our hearts, and as we embrace God’s perfect love, we come to more brightly reflect His love with our own.

As God fills our hearts with His love, our prayers also draw us ever closer to our blessed Mother, whom He loves as His own mother, and who shares and reflects His love with all her heart. Because of the relationship she shares with Jesus, as His mother, uniquely close to Him among all people who have ever lived, Mary most fully shares in His intimate and infinite love for each of us. The love we might share with Mary is a path to God, and for the same reasons, it is one of the greatest friendships we can ever know.

‘Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee!’ No creature has ever said anything that was more pleasing to me, nor will anyone ever be able to find or say to me anything that pleases me more.

Mary to Saint Mechtilde

When you say your Rosary, the angels rejoice, the Blessed Trinity delights in it, my Son finds joy in it too, and I myself am happier than you can possibly guess. After the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, there is nothing in the Church that I love as much as the Rosary.

Mary to Blessed Alan de la Roche

Through the Rosary the faithful receive abundant grace, as though from the very hands of the Mother of the Redeemer.

Saint John Paul II

To recite the rosary is nothing other than to contemplate with Mary the face of Christ.

Saint John Paul II

Do whatever he tells you.

Mary, in John 2:5
